When sending a research request, please include the family name(s) you are researching and as many specifics as you have available, such as dates of residence, approximate year of birth and/or death. Names of other family members (spouse, siblings, uncles, aunts etc.). The more information you give us, the more we may be able to help you.
If you are looking for a specific document, please include the type of document in your request, such as a marriage license or obituary. The Archives does not have any records of birth certificates- those are an official state records and are available through the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) Vital Records Department.
